American College of Acupuncture is where I have been studying for the last 4 years and I have had the most amazing time there, meeting great people and learning some fascinating stuff. If you have an interest in acupuncture or in Oriental medicine then I can tell you that studying this is very rewarding and that you should go ahead and do it. If you do decide to take on a course then I would strongly urge that you attend the American College of Acupuncture, and here are 5 reasons why.
Range of Courses
There are many courses which you can choose from at this college depending on what you are looking to achieve. For example you can take a short course which will help to give you a taste of the subjects, alternatively they offer 2 varieties of a 1 years masters course, as well as 2 varieties of a doctorate. These postgrad options are excellent for anyone who wishes to go into the world of healthcare.
Wide Bases
Here at the college they are looking to equip you with the tools that you need for a career in healthcare. What I particularly enjoyed about this course was the attention which they give to administration, as well as the focus on Oriental medicine and the theories and principles behind it. Some of my fellow students are going to open up their own clinics, others are going to work in hospitals and surgeries, based on the knowledge which they have been given at the college.
Professors
The professors here are some of the best that you are going to find and many of them have either come from Asia or have been to Asia to study and hone their skills when it comes to traditional Oriental medicine and acupuncture. The professors have very high standards and they will push you hard so that you can reach them. If you put your faith in the professors and work hard then you can achieve great things at the college.
Practice
Many locations who offer courses in Oriental medicine often miss out or don’t give enough attention to the practice of these techniques, but there is only so much which you can learn from a book. Here at the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine they have a clinic on campus which members of the public use, giving you the perfect chance to put into practice what you learn in the classroom.
